We were honored to welcome Professor Oscar Céspedes from our collaborative partner, the University of Leeds, for a special lecture on emergent molecular spintronics. Professor Céspedes is a world-renowned expert in various fields of magnetic physics, particularly as a pioneer in this field. Having previously worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Kyushu University before joining Leeds, he kindly accepted our invitation to travel from UK and deliver this invaluable lecture.
In this presentation, Professor Céspedes covered a wide range of topics in an accessible manner, from themes familiar to our laboratory—such as deposition techniques for magnetic garnets and interface phenomena—to his specialized research on emergent magnetism in fullerenes. His talk, which bridged fundamental materials synthesis and cutting-edge physics, was exceptionally clear and well-received by both faculty and students, ending with a warm and enthusiastic round of applause.
Taking this visit as a new milestone, we look forward to strengthening our collaboration and striving for outstanding research results together!
