We were honored to welcome Dr. Satoshi Sasaki from our collaborative partner, the University of Leeds, for a special lecture on topological insulators. He is a world-renowned expert who has been at the forefront of experimental research on topological insulators and superconductors for over 15 years.
In this lecture, Dr. Sasaki presented the fundamentals of topological insulators, their fascinating properties, and the experimental challenges involved, as well as innovative approaches to overcoming them. He began with a very clear explanation of energy band formation, making the complex topic accessible even to beginners. The audience was truly captivated, and the time seemed to fly by.
Following the lecture, we visited the Fukuoka Castle Hanami Festival to celebrate the arrival of spring with the newly blooming cherry blossoms.
We are excited to continue our collaboration and will strive to make significant contribution to the field!
